About

Born in 1981 in rural Missouri, my life changed forever when I first got my hands on the NES. As I grew older, my interest in video games naturally became an interest in technology in general. I went to Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL in 2003 and graduated in December of 2004 with a degree in game design and development.

In the years that followed I began working with Flash and ActionScript. Since then I have worked in several industries including simulation, gaming and web. I'm currently working as a senior UI developer for Hatalom Corporation in Orlando, FL.

My strongest traits as a developer are a curiosity to learn new things, not giving up when I hit a roadblock and a drive to improve my abilities. I would not be where I am today without the help of others and so I like to give back to the development community whenever possible. To that end I write tutorials, contribute to open source projects, teach ActionScript courses and speak at conferences whenever the opportunity presents itself.

In addition to technology and programming I also enjoy hitting the gym, biking, ice hockey and scuba diving. I think it's important to get away from the computer and experience life and all this world has to offer!
